“Stop and see the flowers with summer’s Nice Stems!by OPI, a limited edition collection featuring four new nail lacquers in stunning shades of pink. With whimsical names based on their floral inspirations, these vibrant, flirty colors range from pale, frosty pink to rich fuchsia.  Nice Stems! offers fingers and toes a perfectly pink shade for all of summer’s looks.”

My Thoughts:

While I’m not a pink fan, I do want all four of these colors! I could see myself wearing Play the Peonies, Come to Poppy, and I Lily Love You, and Dahlia looks too bright to be true. We’ll see once this collection rolls around whether or not I’ll be on the Dahlia train. :]

China Glaze Atlantis — Photos, Swatches, Review

I’m just realizing how crummy these swatches are… I’ve been sick and out of blogging commission. I’ve been having a huge asthma problem, and nail polish fumes are no bueno for the oxygen levels. So, unfortunately crappy swatches, messy and depressed cuticles, and awkward hands positions.

China Glaze re-released Atlantis as part of their Treasures collection to go along with the Tronica glitters.

COLOR: Atlantis is a deep teal with holographic glitter. The base is sheer and maybe even jelly-ish. This looks like water when the light moves across the nail. It sparkles and dances on that gorgeous teal/aqua base.

APPLICATION: This applied slightly uneven, as you can see in the pictures, but I can honestly forgive this. I kept staring at my hands. I’m a sucker for holo.

WEAR: While this didn’t stay on for long, China Glaze usually lasts anywhere between a week or two weeks with only minor chips on me. I know that’s extremely abnormal, but it’s the truth. I guess the formula just likes my body chemistry?

This is a must-have for any true China Glaze fan. Go buy it. Now. I know you can get it at Sally Beauty for $5.99, and Sally usually has some sort of deal on China Glaze. It’s also available on many online retailers.

Essie Borrowed & Blue vs. OPI What’s With The Cattitude? Comparison

So, I hear a lot of people have been asking about Essie’s beautiful Borrowed & Blue and how it compares to OPI’s What’s With The Cattitude? from the Shrek collection. Well, here you go!

Both pictures are true to color.

As you can see, WWTC is way brighter, and is the color of a clear summer afternoon. I’ve never seen a true sky color like WWTC. B&B is a clean spring pastel blue. They’re obviously very different. Borrowed and Blue I decided I will wear to my wedding someday. WWTC is the exact color I’ve been looking for. I have this turquoise necklace from Kohl’s that I love, and I needed that color on my nails. I couldn’t find it! While WWTC quenches my blue need for now, I’m pretty sure China Glaze Bahamian Escape is the one I really need.

Essie Borrowed & Blue is from the Borrowed and Blue Collection, which I found at Ulta.

OPI What’s With the Cattitude? is also from Ulta.

NOTD: OPI Pirates of the Caribbean collection: Stranger Tides– Photos, Swatches, and Review

Well, lookie what I got! This is Stranger Tides from OPI’s summer brights collection. While these aren’t bright, even in the least, they are still oh so summery. I bought two from the collection, one which I will post later this week– Mermaid’s Tears. I have it as a pedicure right now, and seeing how I never have and never will show pictures of my feet (I hate feet. I positively detest them.) I will do MT as a mani in a few days.

COLOR: A dusty sage green cream. It looks almost gray in the bottle, unless you really do put it up against a gray. Once I put it on it became much more green to the eye.

PIGMENTATION AND APPLICATION: This is very pigmented, it would’ve been opaque in just two coats, but I needed four to even everything out. The unevenness is strictly an issue with myself, my hands shake a lot 😉

WEAR: The picture you see above is after four days, so it’s safe to say the wear time is phenomenal. Almost no tip wear at all. One little chip on my right pointer finger is all.

FINAL THOUGHTS: This is a must have. It’s murky gray-green beauty is a stunner, and a perfect spring and fall color. I want a darker version of this. A perfect khaki military green is now on my lemming list.

Interview Number Two NOTD: China Glaze Below Deck– Swatches, Photos, Reviews

Yay, interviews! So, I got called back for another interview! Which is never bad news. I got all fancied up again (I’m usually bohemian/pirate/hippie chic), and officed up my nails. I used China Glaze Below Deck from the Anchors Away collection.

COLOR: This is a medium/dark dusty purple cream. It’s definitely not a true taupe or mushroom. I feel this is a faded, dusty purple. The picture is true-to-color.

PIGMENTATION: Below Deck is very well pigmented. It only took two coats for bottle color and full opaqueness.

APPLICATION: From what I can remember (as I was nervous) this applied like a dream. It dried super quick, but not so fast that I couldn’t work with it.

WEAR: I didn’t keep this on for too long, because I had many many many other polishes to try, so I couldn’t say too much for the wear, but it lasted at least 48 hours with no tip wear or chips. Which is still something.

Final Thoughts: I loved the color, I loved the formula. I can’t even begin to say enough good things about this. If you can find it, buy it right then and there. I’m not raving over this right now because I’m honestly feeling pastels and neons, but I can’t wait for fall to bring this baby out and rock it.

This product was sent to me for review by either China Glaze or it’s public relation company. For further information regarding this review, please see my Disclosure Policy.

NOTD: Sinful Colors Last Chance –Photo, Swatches, Review

This is my Corporate Barbie (or as I like to say, Interview Britni) look! I had a job interview on Wednesday, so I toned it down. A little. =) I even cut my nails! Mine were looking haggard.

Um, this is Sinful Colors Last Chance. It applied like a dream. I can’t believe how easy the formula was to work with, and how opaque it was. I have an issue with SC, that they tend to take quite a few coats to get perfect.

Last chance is a dark dark green jelly-ish creme. This was two medium coats. When I first put it on, I thought it was a blackened green, it looked black with a twist. I know know that it’s because I haven’t worn a dark polish in years! After a few hours I could plainly see it was a dark (not even really that dark…) green. Which I love. I kind of didn’t want to take it off, but I finally found my blue that I’ve been searching for. I’ll upload those pictures later.

A Quick Word

I just wanted to say a few things. 🙂

  1. I’ve been super sick lately, so I’ve been MIA from even Twitter lately. I know, right? There are many updates to come, I promise. I pinky promise.
  2. I have a backlog of a crap ton of swatches. I think I’m going to do them all individually too, so I am going to be blogging up a storm.
  3. I’m considering giveaways. Maybe. Or other fun things. Let me know you guys are out there by commenting or subscribing. Let me know you love me. I could use it (in referance to No. 1) =)
That’s about it. I have so so so so much stuff to post on here. I bought 5 or 6 new polishes TODAY. Not to mention in the month of April. So… expect a crazy amount of posts…

Yay! My second Birchbox is on its way! I’m creating a list of the April products I can’t live without that I will post either before, or along with the May BB, when it gets here.

Here’s what Birchbox says about the May 2011 box:

Your May Birchbox has shipped! This month, we’re celebrating Mom and everything she has tought us over the years. First lesson: invest in timeless products. We’re sampling the tried and true that we know mom would reccomend. Because oftentimes, she does know best!

I’m so excited! I know it’s probably going to be some basics, like face soap or something. A nice perfume maybe? I don’t know, I’m just thinking about what my mom always says… =D

In other news, I’m thinking about doing a giveaway, maybe? Subscribe and comment and if there’s enough, I’ll let you guys know. If there’s not enough subscribers, I’m not going to do it. So subscribe, subscribe, subscribe!

Milani goodies!

So, I got a nice little package in the mail from Milani with some super awesome products.

  • Liquif Eye Metallic Eye Liner in Silver
  • Liquif Eye Metalic Eye Liner in Gold
  • Eye Tech Liquid Liner in Brown
  • 3D Glitzy Gloss in Designer Label
  • Baked Blush in Rose D’Oro
Milani LIQUIF EYE Metallic Eye Liner in Silver is an ultra pigmented, ultra creamy, super smooth liner that is crazy long lasting. This is pretty much the most perfect eyeliner I’ve ever used. I thought it’d fade within the hour because it’s so creamy and soft, but it not only lasted 14 hours, but it was kinda hard to remove at night! That’s a plus!
Milani LIQUIF EYE Metallic Eye Liner in Gold same awesome formula as the silver, but I just don’t like this one as much, because it blends in too much with my skin tone. Kind of give my skin a dirty look. But it’s still an awesome long lasting liner that I will use, but I have to think of a way to incorporate it.
Milani EYE TECH Liquid Liner in Brown: Now, I don’t know how I feel about this. I love the color and the pigmentation is fantastic, but I can’t figure out which way to store or hold it because it constantly dries out on my after one eye, and I can’t get it to come back… I don’t know. I’m not in love, shock or awe.
3D Glitzy Gloss in Designer Label is a ultra glitzy (hence the name?) gloss in a gaudy (sorry Milani) tube. I love this gloss like an addict likes crack. It’s like half gone already! It’s a super pretty pink with pink and gold (big!) glitter floating around. I can wear this with just mascara and get so many compliments! Now, the glitter in it is big and sticks around after the gloss disappears, so if your have a thing against Ke$ha (or glitter in general) this may not be your gloss. I personally don’t like glitter, but love this gloss, so I might not try any more of the 3D glosses, but will most definitely try their other lip products.
Milani Baked Blush in Rose D’Oro is a wicked super ultra pigmented blush that is not my usual blush type. I actually have only used this once, but I like it so far, even though I messed up the application, thus no pictures. It’s hard to see in the picture above, but for me it’s an evening blush. It’s very dark.
Also, with this package I got two 3D Holographic Polishes that will be featured in an UBER MEGA CRAZY LARGE nail polish haul. I got HD and Cyberspace.
DISCLAIMER: These products were sent to me either by Milani or their PR companies. For more information see my Disclosure Policy.
