China Glaze Haul! Photos, Swatches

This is going to be a quick post. Photos, some knowledge of the color, and that’s it. I’ll get more in depth with these colors once I wear them again. WARNING: Messy cuticles ahead!

China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint | A minty green, the color in this picture is accurate. All of these pictures are messy because I was in a hurry. This is messiest because the formula sucks. It’s all bubbly and icky and thick. Mints always do this to me. ALWAYS. I’ve tried all sorts of combinations of basecoats and topcoats and wait times in between each coat, and I’m pretty sure it’s my personal chemistry vs. mint pastel greens.

China Glaze Fifth Avenue | Another Audrey Hepburn-obsession acquisition. I know this probably has nothing to do with Breakfast at Tiffany’s. But I am a sucker for both names and packaging. I’ll buy something I hate if it looks cute. On top of the awesome name, this is an amazing polish. This is ONE medium coat. It’s super glossy, quick drying, completely even and opaque. Excellent consistency and texture. The color dried slightly darker than the bottle color, as you’ll see. The color seems a little “old,” but I’ll wear it in the fall. It reminds me of home. Not sure why. It just glided on the nail and went where it was supposed to. Excellent formula.

China Glaze Innocence | Innocence is a sheer pink french manicure type color. The picture above is with four coats. The first coat was super uneven, with barely any color. Second coat, high shine, some color, slightly uneven. At four coats it was at a perfect jelly finish, nearly opaque, and a tolerable VNL. Five coats will probably bring her up to be fully opaque.

China Glaze Strawberry Fields | I only bought this because it’s a basic. Just like For Audrey, or a holographic. If you’re going to call yourself a China Glaze collector, you better have this one. It’s a pink shimmer with gold glass flecks. GORGEOUS. This was two coats, with some VNL.

China Glaze Seduce Me | I don’t see the point of this picture, it’s nothing close to the real thing. This looks red. It’s a gorgeous wine color. It’s actually my favorite color ever. Nearly perfect in one coat, this is shown with two. The polish just went where it’s supposed to, no mess or anything.

OPI Oh So Glam is a sheer white with gold iridescence. It’s super pretty, but it takes quite some coats in order to build it up to semi-opaqueness. It’s not a crazy white, it’s super subtle, great for office wear.

OPI Rising Star is a gorgeous copper. It’s almost an EXACT dupe of Revlon’s Limited Edition Copper Gleam. The only difference is Rising Star has sparse gold glitter in it, which you can see really well in this picture.

Revlon Jelly is the strangest color. This picture makes it look like a hot pink, which it is. But it’s also a crazy hot red. And maybe even orange. It’s a mix of all three. It definitely a warm hot pink, either way. My mom got this from a work meeting, so I got it for “free.” I haven’t put this on my nails yet, I’m waiting for summer, but when I’ll do I’ll still post it as a review sample.

Revlon Vintage is–in the bottle– one of my favorite colors. The perfect red-violet cranberry, burgundy, type color. On the nail it’s slightly darker than the bottle color. I didn’t like it on nail as much as I did in the bottle. I still love its name, and all Revlon colors are FANTASTIC for Konad.

Sally Hansen Cafe Au Lait was added to my collection while I was in search of the perfect nude, “mannequin hands,” color. This is super close, but my skin tone underneath it makes it look just the slightest bit peachy, as you can see here. It’s super close to my match.

Sephora Dragee is a super sheer pink, it’s french manicure pink. It’s nothing special. Just a little wash of color.

Sinful Colors Why Not is a super light blue. Not robin egg blue, like OPI’s What’s With The Cattitude. This is BLUE. It’s aqua. It’s gorgeous. This picture is true to color. It’s crazy opaque too. One of my favorite polishes ever. It’s so BOLD. Love. Love. Love. I’m going to do a polish change to this one tonight.

Ulta Professional  Angel Baby is an opaque white creme. It’s just a white I decided to pick up. I already have Sinful Colors Snow Me White, which is identical in pure white-ness. However, Snow Me White applies WAY better than Ultas white. That, and Angel Baby like, never, ever dries. I had so many dings, dents and fingerprints, that I never photographed it. Go buy Sinful Color Snow Me White, it’s better, and cheaper!

Ulta Professional Femme Fatale is a dark plum shimmer. It’s pretty, great pigmentation, completely opaque in two coats, applied well. looks super pretty under white crackle.

Ulta Lotsa Luxe is a gold metallic. It’s a pale gold. I wore this in my OPI Black Crackle NOTD, two posts ago. It looks FANTASTIC under Black Shatter, and it was beautiful. However, on its own, on me, it’s completely unflattering, old, and gross. However, if someone with a darker skin tone or hell, even a tan, were to wear this, it would pop and look phenomenal. I’m way too pale for this color. It makes everything worse. I will keep it and love it for Konading and crackle polishes.

Wet N Wild Hannah Pinktana is from their super cute, amazing collection where everything is named after a TV show. I own Teal Of Fortune (Blue and gold glitter), Ebony Hates Chris (black creme), Gray’s Anatomy (silver, purple, grey, green, and blue duochrome), Blue Wants To Be A Millionaire, and Hannah Pinktana. This is a gorgeous purple base — not pink as the name suggests — with packed glitter with holographic prisms thrown in there too. It’s truly gorgeous, but I haven’t had the honor of wearing it yet. I hope I can assume it’ll be just as amazing as Blue Wants To Be A Millionaire, which applied amazing for such a dense glitter. Removal is a pain of course, but it’s all totally worth it.

Zoya Carrie Ann is a medium red shimmer. It’s pretty, it’s my first Zoya, but I really don’t like reds. BUT THEY WERE ON CLEARANCE. Application is great, completely opaque in two coats.

Zoya Kristi is a medium red creme, it’s basically the color of a tomato. It’s pretty, but as I stated above, I’m not a red lover. Application is great, opaque in it’s tomatoey goodness in just two coats, nice and glossy.

Well, that’s is for this haul… until next time, enjoy!

Visited an Ulta, spent some money, here’s the results. 😉

First up! China Glaze Crackle Glaze Lightning Bolt! I finally found the Crackle Glazes, it only took like 6 sold out stores. Now… I’m sort of disapointed in this, in a wierd way. It’s everything I expected it to be, but it just doesn’t wow me in person… I put it on my mom over China Glaze Dorothy Who, and it’s just not fantastic. Maybe some day I’ll love it. Just not now.

China Glaze Peace On Earth: This is from the Christmas collection. It’s a super duper pretty olive base with super gold glimmer. It is absolutely STUNNING in person. And if you slap a matte top coat over it… OH EM GEE. Here’s an example. I did a glossy tip, and WOW. I’m growing my nails out so I can do this on myself.

Amazing right?! Love Essie Matte About You. Alright. Let’s move on.

China Glaze Sea Spray Ahhh, I love this color. From the latest Anchors Away collection. I picked this one up first instead of First Mate, Starboard, Pelican Gray, Hey Sailor, or Life Preserver, (I have a bit of a thing for cremes) because of it’s spring color. I’ll grab some of the others more towards summer. This is a GORGEOUS, amazing slate blue. It’s very close to gray, but has just enough blue in it to make it pop. It’s actually just the slightest bit darker in person. It applied kinda gloopy, but I was rushing, and I don’t think my basecoat was completely ready. I did thicker coats than usual, and I’m going to give this wonderful little guy a second chance. And even if it ends up bad again, the color is way too good to give it up. It’s super opaque in just two coats. A must have.

L.A. Colors Color Craze Blue Lagoon is a midnight blue base with just a subtle silver shimmer. I bought this because this is my moms favorite color. I already have Revlon Midnight Affair, which is the same, with the exception of blue micro glitter instead of silver. So… it’s an extra bottle I don’t really need, but this is a good polish, extremely opaque, but not too thick. And at the price tag of a whopping $1, you can’t really beat it. (This was picked up at Family Dollar, not Ulta. ;))

L.A. Colors Color Craze Tropical Storm is a charcoal gray chrome silvery shimmer-y polish. Super pretty. Suuuuuper pretty. It’s wicked opaque, perfect formula, and only ONE DOLLAR. I have nothing bad to say about it. I don’t have an exact dupe for this. I have Sinful Colors Secret Admirer, which is similar in color, but has actual silver glitter in it, not shimmer, and the base is ever so slightly darker.

Another Family Dollar find, L’Oreal Bijou Facets in B. Innocent. This polish is the strangest thing ever. It’s like an angelic sheer white with an ice blue duochrome and these teeeeny tiny blue bar glitters, I think. It’s so difficult to understand. It kind of reminds me of a snocone, or fiberglass or something. I can’t put my finger on it. It’s amazing for layering, or a slight hint of color, but it could never be opaque.

DOLLAR STORES ARE THE WORLDS BEST INVENTION. I found Maybelline Colorama Laser Light Top Coats in Blazes of Crystal. It’s a clear base loaded with multicolor reflective flakes. Sound familiar? Sound a little bit like nubar 2010? Well, you’d be right. They’re so so similar. But, while nubar 2010 has auburn, yellow, and green flashes, BoC has blue, pink, purple, as well as a red-ish, yellow, and green flash. But they look very similar on the nail.

Maybelline Blazes of Crystal, see the rainbow flakes? It reminds me of that children's book, The Rainbow Fish.

nubar 2010, see? Different.

nubar 2010. Well, let just throw these up next to each other. You can see how different they seem to be. I swear, nubar is a flake polish! It’s absolutely amazing for layering over black, and for a subtle edginess, just by itself. This will be amazing over black for Halloween and over gold or silver for Christmas.

DUM DA DA DUM! I present OPI Black Shatter! It’s everything it’s cracked up to be! I don’t have many words for this, so I’m going to just post pictures. (*Note, apply this baby thick and diagonally, and you have magic on your nails.)
